Information Technology Instructor
Tech professionals: are you looking for a change and eager to make a difference in the lives of others? Tech Foundry, Western Massachusetts’ IT-workforce development nonprofit is seeking an experienced technology pro to join our collaborative, high-energy team, as an instructor for our hybrid IT Support Training classes, you will be responsible for creating the learning environment that supports Tech Foundry’s mission to encourage, equip and empower underrepresented populations to thrive in 21st IT professions. In the instructor role, you will foster deep engagement by using various teaching methodologies to address the various learning styles and needs of each learner.
Duties include: Leading instruction using Tech Foundry’s established IT training curricula in a hybrid format. Establishing a focused, engaged and growth-oriented learning environment with an emphasis on equity and inclusion. Assess student progress using a competency-based pedagogical approach and coach/tutor as needed. Collecting student data via micro-polling and surveys throughout the training experience. Serving as a key member of the Tech Foundry team, participating in staff meetings and other organizational projects as needed.
Who we look for: A warm and empathetic relationship-builder who is energized by the opportunity to work with a strong team and amazing students. Requirements include: 5-10 years of IT experience including training or mentoring; proficiency in several areas of IT such as: IT customer service, operating systems (Windows and Linux), networking, Office365, system administration and cyber-security, strong communication and project management skills and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Preferred skills include an understanding of coaching/mentoring, teaching experience, knowledge of the Western MA community and bilingual abilities.
